The After School Surfing Program is run every Thursday of Term 4, 2015 and Term 1 2016. It runs at North Broulee Beach and starts at 3.45pm. The Program is a perfect avenue for a young persons wanting to learn the art of surfing or a student that has prior knowledge and just wants to further develop their surfing skills in a fun environment. The benefits of this program include that it's run by highly qualified, friendly and professional ASI Surf Coaches, the lessons/activities are run at a learner friendly surf location and the students will be surrounded by similar aged, like minded individuals that will provide an encouraging, supportive and fun-filled learning environment. The 10 week program will enable students to develop their confidence in an ocean (Surf) based environment. Students will gain extensive knowledge about rips, ocean currents, tide and wind effects on waves, how waves develop and break and safety around the surf. They will also develop their surfing skills from basic wave riding on broken (small whitewash) waves up to riding across green (Medium Unbroken) waves and performing skilled surf manoeuvres. We will refine their paddling, stance, surf techniques and build their essential knowledge on surf etiquette and fitness. Students will also gain some basic first aid knowledge and rescue techniques using their surf equipment. The most important component to this program is that it is fun and non-threatening.....meaning that students of all ages and abilities can join in and have an absolute blast. At the completion of the 10 week program student will receive a certificate of surf proficiency and a goodies pack including; surf the bay water bottle & cap, stickers, singlet and bag.
